This is
with reference to a news headline “Two cops suspended” (The News, December 2).
According to the report, the only punishment the two got for robbing a scrap
trader and beating him up was to report to Police Lines, Malir district, where
apparently they will be made to do menial work which will deprive them from
earning the thousands they would otherwise do.
But it
should be taken for granted that after a few months the two police men will be
able to “persuade” the right people to transfer them back to their original
place of appointment, where they are free to beat up and rob as many people as
they liked.
