Eidul Azha is still about two weeks away and already the retailers of Karachi appear to have purchased cows and goats for astronomical amounts. I have seen white cows that each cost close to a million rupees and white goats bought for more than a quarter million each.
Mind you, the buyers often do not pay any income tax. In the charged atmosphere of today, perhaps only a remarkably naive person would suggest that the FBR ask the buyers whether the money they used to pay for the cattle is ‘white’.
