It's happened many times in the country's history. Lawyers have attacked judges in the past for a number of reasons, often when they are dissatisfied with verdicts. One shudders to think that one or more of these law-breaking lawyers could end up being chief justices of our courts.

In the latest incident in the Faisalabad region, some lawyers who were caught stealing electricity for their chambers objected when their electric supply was suspended. Not only that, they attacked the utility company's offices and beat up an engineer (who was rescued after suffering serious injuries).

I'm willing to bet that these same lawyers will use force if the cops try to charge them with the crime (which, in their view, is not a crime at all, considering that electricity theft and beating up people is fairly common in Punjab).
