I READ about Obama bending over backwards trying to convince American Jews that he's a staunch supporter of Israel. In fact, for a US politician, it would be political suicide to say anything against Israel or to support the Palestine cause.
The question arises: why do the Jews have so much power in the United States? After all, there are only half a million Jews in the US, and they comprise less than two per cent of the total population. Their vote should theoretically not make much of a difference, yet US politicians are scared to antagonise them.
