Sir: According to a news item, the railways minister recently said, “I got the shock of my life when I was told that the director general of Pakistan Railways is not a law graduate”. Well, what did he expect in a country where the chief minister of a province once casually said that a degree is a degree whether it is genuine or not. If the honourable minister conducts further checks, he should not be shocked to find that many persons in positions of authority in his ministry are not even matriculates.
