Electronic voting machines
THIS is apropos of DAWN`s editorial “Right step” (Oct 19) from which it was heartening to learn that the government was contemplating using electronic voting machines in future elections.
I would also like to request the government to seriously consider allowing people to vote via email. This should not be too difficult since we already have e-filing of income tax and sales tax returns in use for some time now.
Besides, this will save time, money and energy for those who cannot go to polling stations, and will also allow those who are out of station to cast their votes. The modalities can be worked out with the help of Nadra and IT experts.
