No bed of roses

Sir: The incoming government should first try to recover the huge amounts of unpaid electricity bills from industries in the country’s largest province (including, perhaps, the Sharif family’s own Ittefaq Foundries). I am sure this will go a long way to reduce the quantum of load shedding in the country. Later, the Punjab government can tackle electricity theft, which is responsible to a great extent for the current power crisis. However, it is doubtful if the new prime minister will alienate his party members by taking such radical measures.
