OUT OF THE BOX: This is with reference to the editorial “How is FBR helping?” (Feb 2) which has rightly stated that “the entire tax regime is rigged in favour of powerful lobbies…”. Since the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is finding it impossible to collect the target revenue, the government should appoint smugglers as tax collectors, as it is well-known that smugglers are the most powerful, disciplined, and organized group of tax-evaders. They will easily be able to exceed targets given to the FBR. As the saying goes, “if you can’t beat them, join them!”
