Crushed by inflation

CRUSHED BY INFLATION: With reference to the editorial ‘Crushed by inflation’ (Nov 7), our ministers have often told us that Pakistan has the lowest prices of petrol and diesel in the region. They never say that the price of sugar in India is half of what it is in Pakistan in dollar terms. And they certainly cannot explain why the nine per cent rate of inflation in Pakistan is the highest in the region.
