Lack of common sense

Sir: It could happen only in Pakistan, where 99 percent of the people are less intelligent than orangutans. First, about 75 girls fell sick after being sprayed with anti-dengue insecticide in Attock. This should have been enough warning to other fumigators to be careful. But no, just two days later, 120 girls of Jhelum got sprayed and were admitted to a hospital. Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has suspended the Jehlum district coordination officer (DCO), health and education executive district officer (EDO) and tehsil municipal officer (TMO). But more needs to be done to determine who was responsible. Who gave the contract for spraying the insecticide to someone who was obviously not qualified for the work? Did the contractor have the backing of some powerful person in Islamabad? Why was the insecticide sprayed when the girls were present in the rooms? How much did the contractor pay to the concerned officials before he was appointed to do the job?
