KARACHI: With the killing of two senior military officers, I hope our politicians now realise that they have committed a major blunder by offering to talk to the terrorists. It’s time to get down to the basics: the people of Pakistan do not want new airports or roads or tunnels through the mountains, but security. The prime minister and his colleagues should concentrate, only, on the improvement of security, even if it means expanding our army and law-enforcement agencies. The terrorists will not stop unless they get complete and unfettered control of this country. They have to be stopped and the only way to do so is to fight them. Let’s not waste our time and resources on meaningless talks.
