Sir: This is with reference to the news item “FIR lodged against Sanaullah Zehri’s guards” (Daily Times, July 20, 2013). One hopes that with this action of the administration, there will be no incidents of such high-handedness in the future, although one must not expect the mindsets of our feudal lords to change so soon. I live in a building managed by the DHA, where notices have been posted in many places that “armed guards are not allowed inside the building complex”, yet many powerful residents flout this rule openly while the armed security personnel posted at the gate look on helplessly, and the management dare not take any action against the violators.
