This is with reference to the letter “Taxing agriculture” (Nov 29). The writer has tried to convey the impression that feudal lords are already heavily taxed. What is needed is direct income tax on incomes derived from agriculture. What agriculturists are paying is indirect tax, which all other sectors are also subjected to. Is it not blatant discrimination to exempt from tax all incomes derived from agriculture while imposing income tax on those who earn incomes from salaries and other businesses?
