Breaking free

With reference to Mr Ameer Bhutto's letter "Breaking free" and his earlier excellent article on the subject, I would like to point out that in the French Revolution, it was mostly the elite (feudal) population which was slaughtered by the peasants. A Pakhtun leader in Karachi recently warned those living in Karachi's Clifton and Defence areas to be prepared for a revolution by the have-nots.

These are ominous signs, because if a revolution does take place many people I know and Mr Ameer Bhutto knows could be among the victims. In fact, the two of us could be among the first to face the guillotine. Not a pleasant prospect, is it?
