RCCI President Syed Asad Mashadi said that the
Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) had deputed its auditors to hotels and
restaurants across the country in order to monitor their business procedures.
The RCCI contacted higher authorities regarding the matter and
the FBR withdrew them from 42 hotels in both Rawalpindi
and Murree. I wonder why such preferential treatment is being given to hotels
in Rawalpindi and Murree? Exempting one section while taxing others is
surely not justified.
