This is with reference to the many letters about the Swat peace deal recently published in your newspaper. There is one thing which makes the Taliban different from other Pakistanis: they are not afraid of death. And, as Seneca said two thousand years ago, "The man who is not afraid to die will always be your master." Unfortunately most Pakistanis (including our leaders) are not willing to pay even the small amount of taxes the government needs, so how can you expect them to stand up to the militants? This state will not survive unless we are collectively ready to sacrifice everything we have, including our lives. The choice is ours: either we change our priorities or we lose our freedom.
